Holidays

I sewed and beaded this Christmas tree, add a border made from christmas wrapping paper to put onto a card front.
The web card I loosely sewed, and attached a little spider I got from an old pair of earrings to the center.

The Glasswing Butterfly

This butterfly lives in South America

A butterfly with transparent wings is rare and beautiful.

As delicate as finely blown glass, the presence of this rare tropical gem is used by rain forest ecologists as an indication of high habitat quality and it's demise alerts them of ecological change.
Rivaling the refined beauty of a stained glass window, the translucent wings of the Glasswing butterfly shimmer in the sunlight like polished panes of turquoise, orange, green, and red.

(All things beautiful do not have to be full of color to be noticed: in life that which is unnoticed has the most power).

DISASTER

I'm guessing the material thing is not my forte. I tried to do this butterfly on material and as you can see it was a total disaster.
I had bought these Fabric Markers a while back and never used them. I'm thinking I should have used Fabric Crayons instaed.
So I thought, why not give it a try now.
VERY, VERY bad idea. I either can't follow directions right, or the directions are.... well messed up. (I'm hopeing it's the latter).
Nevertheless here is my great adventure with coloring material.
HELP!!!!!! What did I do wrong here?

Oh well, if I can believe anything it says on the Directions, it will wash out as long as I don't heat set it. We shall see if that at least is right.

Purse

I seem to be going in all directions with my cards. I was doing more halloween cards, then I got this bright idea to do something on material. I have some fabric markers..... Not fabric crayons ... and thought to use them. Bad Idea there I'll tell you. That was a total disaster. Even after following all the direction, it ran all over the material.

Frustrated and not a little annoyed I sat down and was reading a magazine, and I saw this cute purse. The lightbulb went on and I cut and folded, glued and sewed, added some ribbon for the handle, and ended up with this cute little purse card.

Flip cards

Here I did two Kimono Flip Cards.
As the second pix shows, the centre of both cards flip up to put a verse inside.
I was going to put a stand on the back, but then changed my mind.

Halloween

I couldn't sleep last night, so I did this card and envelope.
I painted some puzzle pieces metalic black and used them for card front, I cut the letters from cardboard.
On the envelope front I sewed the sides, and also the button fastener with a teabag boxfold, and used some of the same paper for inside of card.

For Carol

Hi Carol

These are just a few samples of Teabag Folding. I have yet to learn all the ways to do it, but these are the easiest.
The blue one I showed the front and the back, because you can use either side of them.

Hopefully with the CD, and instructions on all the methods I will learn many more.
Hope this helps.

Book Marks

I did these book marks for fun, and as you can see I didn't have a very steady hand doing the borders. LOL
I guess I'll be doing some touchups to the first 3. (These three are stickers that you can paint).

The pants were a hoot to do. I drew these from the little pants on my Birthday present from Dianne.
(I'm going to go a little off topic for a bit here).

I originally wanted my blog to be called Smarty Pants, but alas Blogger kept telling me that name was taken. I tried spelling it every which way with no success.
So I settled for tonyzworldofart. ( this is especially for annonymous on Luci's blog, who sugested I put in some dots or comas). Anyway, Dianne gave me an art kit this year for my "B" Day and she put a bunch of little pants on it, Way too cute, so needless to say, that's were the pants came from.

I still have alot more done, I just have to find some VERY fine markers.

Cool place for photos

This is a cool place to put all my photos.
I hate it when the picture doesn't show a texture, shimmer, or glitter, because this is so cute and it has a lot of glitter on it. I haven't put any photos in it yet, but I will be soon.

Thanks Dianne. Posted by Picasa

A few cards

Here are a few cards I did yesterday. I was feeling a bit whimsical I guess.

I did lace corners on the top of dress card, but you really can't see it very well here. I tried takeing several pix of it , to no avail.
It's painted in black and silver metalics, but hard to see this also. Then I stitched around the dress. (I think I should have done it before hand). Oh well, I'll try another one today.
I did the jacket, because it reminded me of a cute photo book Dianne gave me. (I will post that also). The book has a jipper on it though.
I will add buttons to this jacket as soon as I find ones I like for it.

Gold Wrapping Paper

I wanted to share it with all my family and my friends.

Some time ago a mother punished her 5 year old daughter for wasting a roll of
expensive gold wrapping paper.

Money was tight and she became even more upset when the child used the gold
paper to decorated a box to put under the christmas tree.

Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift box to her mother the next morning and said
"This is for you, momma".

The mother was embarrassed by her earlier over reaction, but her anger flared again
when she opened the box and found it was emply.

She spoke to her daughter in a harsh manner.
"Don't you know young lady, when you give someone a present there's suposed to be something inside the package?"

She had tears in her eyes and said,
"Oh momma, it's not empty! I blew kisses into it until it was full."

The mother was crushed. She fell to her knees and put her arms around her little girl, and
she begged her forgiveness for her thoughtless anger.

An accident took the life of the child only a short time later, and it is said that the mother kept that gold box by her bed for all the years of her life.
Whenever she was discouraged or faced difficult problems she would open the box and take out an imaginary kiss, and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each of us, as human beings, have been given a GOLDEN BOX filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children, family, and friends.

There is no more precious possession anyone could hold.

The Poser

I played around with this one for quite awhile, and I might redo some of it still.
I thought I'd try to do more body poses rather than just faces.
Next I'm going to consentrate on hands and feet. As you can see I need work there.
But here she is "The poser" Posted by Picasa

Iris folding, Fans, and cutouts

Well I have been very remiss in keeping up to date here, mostly through no fault of my own, and I must say it is a bit my fault.

I also have been feeling very lazy these days. Not too much done in the way of art, though I did do a few cards.. which I feel might still need something added to.

The "top" fan card and butterfly card (which is not quite finished) are made from my homemade papers, the 2nd fan card I used some paper that my dear friend Sandy did with her chinese stamp, and the last I still have to emboss .

Oh and I did do another drawing also. Next post for that one I guess. And that's it pretty much.

For you Luci

I am sitting at my computer thinking about Luci's fairy story, and I thought I would like to give her something in return. I remembered the picture on her blog, so I went there to look at it again. I thought to myself that it was such a nice surprise, and I was trying to think of something to surprise her.

SOOOOOOOO....... here it is.
As I've stated several times faces are hard for me, so I hope I captured your likeness Luci.
And I hope you like it. Posted by Picasa

my latest drawing

I have been drawing face after face, trying to get it right, and I think this one finally looks a bit better. The scale of the picture is off, but that's another story. I guess it's back to the drawing board for me. Posted by Picasa

Cards

A few cards I am working on. Just a few more touches and all done.
