Hail the Queen

I made this card for my granddaughter Kendra. Her Birthday is comeing up in May. She'll be 7 going on 70 this year, and she's the little queen. She likes to dress up as a princess, although I think this year the costume might be a bit small for her. Anyway she thinks she's a princess and I think she's my little queen.

Snap - Stamps

These are the Snap-Stamps I told you about. They are so cool because they interlock and you just have to pull them apart and assemble them in any configuration you want.
I have only used the larger set so far on the Easter card in my last post. The smaller set looks really small here, but it will be great for smaller projects.
Sure saves on space used up with other larger alphabet stamp sets. Both these sets are in the lowercase, but I do believe they come in the uppercase also.

Hoppy Easter

Well I am off the the Dr.'s today, but I just had to show you the cute card I did.
I used some yellow and pink card stock, wall paper (the pink, blue, and yellow stripes), made some picture corners from blue c/s, then used my water color crayons on the image.

A while back I bought some Snap - Stamps from Cindy at www.stampalicious.typepad.com that are awesome because you can make any quote or verse you want. I will try to take a pic of them to show you what they look like. They are very compact and easy to use. I got 2 different sizes.
Well got to get ready now, I'll post more later.

Have a great day All

Open I say

I made these cards with Easter in mind, but maybe just because it's spring.
This purse opens up to reveal a message inside. Then of course there's a verse inside the card too.

On this one I tore up an all tattered ribbon to do the fringe, and the hat also opens up, no message as yet though, as I'm not sure if it's for Easter or happy spring .

Celebrate the Magic

Here are a few more cards I did. this first one I used the same ribbon as on the dress card. I used the Celebrate stamp and the envelope with flowers stamp both from www.stampingup.com in gold embossing then I dotted all over the card with the same gold and embossed that also.

This one I used another stamp from www.stampingbella.com this one is Tinkerbella. I used my water colors on her. I think this stamp is so cute. Then I added the Magic Happens to the bottom to finish it off.

A few cards for mom's Day

As is the case a lot lately, I couldn't sleep, and of course there was nothing on the boob tube so I dicided to try and do a card. As it turned out I did a few cards. I will post this one now and hopefully the rest later today.

This is the outside of the card. The dress is done in cold foil paper which is really shiny, some gold mesh I cut from a Xmas ribbon is on the bottom, and a great ribbon I purchased a while ago that has lots of shimmery pink, blue, and gold in it. As you all know my camera is kaput, so I finally hooked up my new printer and scanned it. BUT as you can see, it still does not pick up all the shimmer although it is at least in focuss.

This is a scan of the dress opened. I stamped my new spabella from www.stampingbella.com , and then used one of my it's a girl thing stamps from www.stampinup.com which I purchased from Dawn at www.dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com

No verse on inside of card as yet but thinking it's a cute card for mom's day. Kind of like from the spa to the ball Kind of thing. We'll see. Well off to see if I can spot any more an-e-mules on my new fave site.

Have a great day all

An African Live Cam

Wow Wow Wow, I just was visiting Circleofcrafters today, and discovered this site. I did not find the original post, so can't say who sent it in, but this is a live web cam in Africa. I believe this is in Nkorho Africa. I read that a few ladies have seen elephants and a few others, I have spotted I believe a buffalo or Bison? But that is all so far. You can hear all the monkey's and distant sounds of the animals (oh ya, they are 9 hrs. ahead of us here in Canada, so it's 11pm there right now). It's pretty interesting to watch, but you do have to wait quite a while to see anything. wa wa wa.
Hope this link works. Give it a try, and enjoy.
www.africam.com or www.wavelit.com
There will be a short commercial before the live cam kicks in so don't think you are at the wrong site. If you go to the first one, look on the left hand side for Nkorho and the videocam will open up.
OK>>>>>>>>>> as I was doing this post I skipped on over to the cam and spotted a hyienna (spelling right? not sure, but there you have it) LOL

Out of the mouths of babes

I don't know about you, but when my girls were really young they were a handful. But handful or not I loved them to death, especially on those times when they were posed a question. You know I would laugh so hard sometimes my sides would hurt.
And I quickly learned that if I didn't want the truth, then by golly, NEVER ASK A KID. LOL
Sit back and enjoy.

Here are a few answers from a class of 8 year olds.
The question was "What is a Grandparent?"

1- Grandparents are people who have no kids of their own because they like other people's.

2- A Grandfather is a man Grandmother.

3- Grandparents don't have to do anything except be there when we come to see them, and they shouldn't play hard or run.

4- It is good if they drive us to the store and have lots of quarters for us.

5- When they take us for walks, they slow down past things like pretty leafs and caterpillars.
They show us and talk to us about the colors of the flowers and also why we shouldn't step on "cracks". Oh yeh, and they don't say "HURRY UP."

6- Usually Grandmothers are fat, but not too fat to tie your shoes. And they wear glasses and
funny underwears.

7- They can take their teeth and gums out.

8- They don't have to be smart.

9- Everybody should try to have a Grandmother, especially if you don't have a television, because they are the only grownup's who like to spend time with us.

10- They have to answer questions like " why isn't God married" and "how come dogs chase cats?"

11- When they read to us, they don't skip, and they don't mind if we want the same story over
again.

12- They just know we should have snack-time before bedtime and they say prayers with us
every time, and kiss us even when we've been bad.

13- It's funny when they bend over, you hear gas leaks and they blame it on the dog.

AND last but not least

14- When a 6 year old was asked where her Grandmother lived she replyed
"Oh, she live at the airport. And when we want to see her we just go and get her.
Then when we're done haveing her visit, we take her back to the Airport."

I've read these a few times now and they still make me laugh.
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Have a great day

A little Fun

Today I though I'd have a bit of fun and do this cute clown.
This first pic is of course the uncolored first step, (well almost uncolored).
And this is the end result. The colors are much brighter than they are showing here, Not sure why.
Anyway, other than thinking I might redo the sleeves, I think she's pretty darn cute.
