Happy 13th

My granddaughter Taylor who will be 13 in May and I thought this image from www.firecrackerdesignsbypamela.com would be great to use. I fussed with this so much and it's still not how I wanted it, but I'm calling it done.
I stamped the image with Versamark then StazOn and heat embossed with clear ep, then I colored it with Koh-I-Noor woodless color pencils and blended it with Ginak's OMS and blending stumps. I've had these paper doilies hanging around forever so I cut the centre out of one and adhered it to some vellum with what I thought looked like party flecks on it and cut and added the image with pop dots. punched both ends of cs added some satin ribbon and pink and blue rain dots.
For the inside I used the other doily and the centre of the first one, sponged the edges, stamped happy birthday and added that to the pink vellum insert.
That's it for today.
Hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend

Problems with Blogger

OKAY, Is it just me are what? I had a problem with blogger all day yesterday and now again today. If you are reading this then I 'm having a bit of success. I say a bit, because it won't let me post a picture, nor can I seem to leave comments on other blogs.
I keeps getting this
"oops this link is broken" message, and if I can get on the blog I can't leave a message.
SO WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?

Anywhooooo, I will try again later today, as there is no sense writing a novel if it don't show up.

Fingers crossed lol

A little bit of Magic

E.T.A
I found it, Finally. I really need to keep everything in one place from now on.
Anyway here is Leah's post with an easy peasy tutorial for the Magic box.
Hope you give it try, I know I am going to try another one.
Enjoy
Oh wow, I was busy last night trying out something I loved the minute I saw it on some blog ages ago.
It always looked so complicated to do so although I drooled every time I saw it I never attempted it.
Well all that has changed now, and thanks to Leah I am totally hooked.

My habit of jotting things down on scrap pieces of paper is going to be my downfall I tell you. I did write down her blog, but can't find it right now. I will edit this post as soon as I find it.

She made this so easy to understand and you have to see the beauties she made.

Now this one is pretty plain because I wanted to try it out first, oh and sorry for the picture quality, but i really
couldn't wait to show that I DID IT.
Yay me. LOL

As you can see above, I messed up with the birthday stamp, I should have taken into account that the lid would cover it. That
was my first "Duh" moment.. I just stamped this swirl all around the bottom on the other three sides.

And here she is opened up. "Duh" moment #2 is hidden behind that piece of paper. Yup you guessed it, I was not paying attention and adhered the second box to the wrong side. I wasn't too worried though as this was just a practice run for me.

I also made that bow and a few charms that I will post as soon as I find my new batteries for the camera.
Hope you had a great weekend

Is it Spring at your house yet?

Is this spring enough for you?

I just got the nicest surprise visit from my 7 yr. old granddaughter Kendra and daughter Corinne, and look what they brought for me.

Check out those gorgeous colors.

Now I know they need to be cut down and arranged a bit better, but Kendra was so adamant that i put them in my , ahem, dusty vase right away and posted on my blog that i just had to let her arrange them for me so she could witness then here.

Oh, and look what else I got. Just for a #1 gran like myself. Well that's what she thinks and I have to agree. LOL

I cant forget this cutie. below

Remember a few days ago when I had that headache, well it was the start of my yearly cold

I get this nasty thing every year where i get a cold and on top of that I also loose my voice which everyone like except me. lol

But now I have my Get Well bear to help make me better.

What a sweetie she is.

That's all for now, just had to share.

A card with presents

Still in Birthday mode here with just a few more to complete.

I was going to stamp something to do with presents, but I enjoyed making the cat card so much the other day so
once I decided on what I wanted the presents to be delivered on I went to wk.
Gina K's "You Know You're Old When" stamp set kept coming to mind, but that car was just a tad small
for what I wanted. Granny was perfect though, so I stamped it out and
cut her and the bucket seats out, drew a car that was bigger, more room for her and the presents, on the back of the
thin cardboard from some embellishments I had laying around, painted it blue and added a few scuff marks, bling, and
I used a 1/8" & 3/4" punch for the tires and popped them up on the front, I cut one in half for the back tires.

Here is the Gina K. Stamp, and my car.

Then I cut out a 6 squares from my Glitter Mat Stack in different sizes for the presents,
cause presents should sparkle, Right? Popped dotted them on top of each other and added ribbon scraps, bling on one present
and the headlights.

I mounted all this on white glitter pp but it was missing something, so I found
this scalloped piece of, you guessed it, more cardboard from a pkg. of embellishments,
that had a cute pattern on it, and it was green so why not. I then popped it all up and now granny is ready to deliver all
those yummy looking presents to that special little person.

Here is a side view to show the dimension.
That's it for now. Hope you like it.

Tilda and Edwin

Not feeling too great today, so I'll keep this short.

Image is the super sweet Tilda and Edwin on Ice, watercolored with stickles on her fur and centre of flower.
pp is from wassail paper pad
Heart from an old charm bracelet
12 stamped images (only 6 shown here) go in the front pocket, a little something for the recipient.

I really have to go lay this head down now.

Hope you have a Puuuur-fect day

I did this card over a few weeks time with snippets of this and that.
I had small spools of colored wire and used that for her whiskers, tail and legs. Amber beads for the paws and Tiny twinkles for her leash (black ribbon on the bottom of card), collar, and eyes. Not sure if you can see it, but I boo booed again and used one green and one clear gem for the eyes, so I guess she looks a bit odd.
But she is sitting so regal on her comfy bed of fur.
That's about all there is.

I only look Innocent

In my loonngg absence from blogging I did manage to get a few cards done, and this is the first of them- the one in the post below being the most resent of them.
Of my three granddaughters one of them has a birthday in April, and the other two are in May, then both of my daughters are in May, not to mention several friends, Mother's Day and of course my birthday. WHEW!!!!!!!!
It's like Christmas in May around here. LOL

So I thought to myself that feel like it or not I had to try and pump out some cards.
This cute Magnolia card is for my youngest granddaughter Jazmin who will be 4 going on 40.
I'm sure all you mothers out there can relate. hahaha
Every time Misti does her nails or puts on lip gloss Jazzy has to have some too, so I thought this sentiment "Got Lipstick?" was
RIGHT ON, and the one inside the panel - which I didn't capture compleatly - reads "I only look innocent" is more then RIGHT ON.
SHEESH................... is it me or are kids nowadays comeing out half grownup? LOL

I know I am drifting here. sorry about that.
Not too much to tell here since it's pretty straight forward, but how about that stunning pp? I got that from a very dear friend Carol several months back and meant to post it then. Just check out that shimmer, sooooo purdy eh? I'll have to post all the lovly things she sent, oh and the card is too stinkin cute too.

Okay, that's it for now, hope you like our little DIVA'S card.

Visit, update, and a card

I know I have been missing in action again, but lots going on here lately. My brother who has not been here in Ontario for 10 yrs. was here visiting and it was a whirlwind getting him around visiting, shopping and, Wow, just catching up, trying to get my craft room to.............well look like a craft room, and trips to the hospital.

UPDATE
My mom is doing great now, but Dan's mom is still in ICU, and her condition is still touch and go.

It took me quite a while to answer you all but I wanted to thank everyone again
for all the many, many heartwarming e-mails and comments here on my blog. I am truly touched.

THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH.

Now on to my card.

I saw this earlier on Dawns blog, http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad.com/ and had to give it a try.

I used these too cute Magnolia images. Isn't she just the cutest thing? And check out how the card opens. pretty spiffy eh? LOVE IT. LOL
Sorry for the not very great pics, but it's 2:30 am here and the lighting isn't the greatest.

Well that's it for now, I hope you like it.
I woke to an awful head cold this morning and with the combo of runny nose and eyes and sore throat I thought i would be dead to the world NOW but no such luck. Going to try again to get some sleep.

Hope you are having a great weekend.

Prayers Needed

I don't even know where to start here, so I guess I will start a few weeks back when I got this frantic call from my mom.

All I could make out was her crying and moaning, then I faintly heard her say she had fallen.
Thank goodness my brother was here at the time. We rushed over there to find her semi-conscious on the floor. She had fallen while getting out of the tub and banged herself up very badly. She has bruised her whole side from the armpit to her butt.
In the last few weeks we have been keeping comfortable, and installed hand rails and purchased her a seat for the shower. The long and short of it is that the Dr. said she is not mending as fast as he would like to see, but she IS mending and will recover.

Not a week after all that we got a call about Dan's mom. She was rushed to emergency for an operation to relieve pressure on her brain, she has been ill for quite a while now and has had several operations but noone ever suspected anything like this .
The operation went well, then a few days after going home she was rushed back for more surgery, and it was discovered she is full of infection now. The Doctors are very concerened and as of this morning she is still in critical condition.

I am asking if you could say a prayer

Thanks for dropping today.

Too funny..........hahaha

Ha Ha Ha, I don't have anything crafty to show for my absence, but I do have somethig that is too funny.
This is a caricature of me, no kidding, I totally forgot about this thing. lol

My youngest daughter and I were in the Centre shopping Plaza in 1999, -wow, just seeing this brings back that day so vividly,- and as is always the case with us we were being silly and this artist was doing quick sketches of passersby and paying customers.
Corinne and I stopped and watched for a min. oohing and ahhing at how beautiful they all were especially since he had them done in no time at all. It was amazing.
Anyway Corinne said quite loudly, the little bugger, that I should get one done.
Now anyone who knows me, knows that taking a picture, sketch, or anything that will capture my likeness is a NO-NO, plain and simple. I shot her a look that would kill with a sly smerk on my face which just made her taunt me even more. This went on for a few minutes when someone tapped me on the sholder and pointed my attention to the artist who was holding up this sketch of me and Corinne, see her on the side there?

Well I have to tell you that seeing what he had sketched we both broke out in hysterics, (where ever he got the tennis thing from is a mystery to us since we were both in jeans, but those earrings were my fave at the time), and the great part was his remark that watching us going on like that had been the funniest part of that day.

It's always great to be able to put a smile on someones face eh? Oh and he gave it to me for....... are you ready for this?.............................. NOTHING!!!!!!! Yup I actually have a pic of me that I love. lol And to think it was packed away for so long.

Just thought I would share. HEY, THIS COULD BE MY AVITAR FROM NOW ON!!!!!!!! hehehehe

Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by

A 5 or 10

A 5 or 10 min. card that took me forever, AND made quite a mess. LOL

We had bought a really cute gift card for Danny's mom a while back that I fell in love with it, so I thought I would case it. Now I didn't take a photo of it, but it had a really simple embossed flourish border on it with a ribbon down the side with a beautiful heart charm, and a scroll type sentiment in the centre.
That being said, I had a sm. jar of flocking, bought when or where?... I don't remember, and thought I would give it a try...... I mean this was a simple design right?

It turned out taking me forever to finish and it really dosen't look anything like the inspiration card, but I am pleased as punch at the end result.
First I stamped the card front with my Palette stamp & stick glue pad, dumped the flocking on and hoped for the best. LOL
I think I over loaded the glue when I refilled the pad because I had one super sticky mess on my hands, desk, cs...........well everywhere, but I'm thinking because of that the flocking clung REALLY well. ANYWOOOOOOOOOO, the sentiment is from a foam stamp that Is one line, but I broke it up to fit the card front. I added the ribbon across the bottom instead of down the side like on the inspiration card, and replaced the heart charm with a broken earring with no mate that I found in my jewellery box.
I really like the christmas cards I did with the matching flaps, so I stamped this one also with black StazOn.

The stamp was purchased at the 2007 London Scrapbook Expo, but I can't remember from which booth, and it has no co. stamp on it.
The ribbon is a scrap piece I had laying around.

Hope you like it.

Picture Tower

Sorry for the poor quality picture, but it late right now and so no sun to capture this beauty and I just had to show it to someone.
We were at Micheal's last Sept. or Oct. when i spied this tower, and I tell you every where we went in the store that day for some reason I kept gravitating right back to this baby. There was a black leather one on display, but then i saw that they had it in brown leather too, sooooooooooo I put it on the bottom of my cart, got about 10 paces away, paused, put it back, went another 10 or so paces, turned, put it back,.................................... well I'm guessing you get where this is going Right? lol
Debbie was getting a bit flustered with me at this point and asked why I kept putting it back if I wanted it so bad, to which I replied, "welllllllllllllll, we are here to buy for others,"
She gave me this really weird look, snatched it up and put it on the cart and said, "well then I am buying it for you, now can we go?".
Gots ta love Big Sisters eh? LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any whoooooooo, here it is closed, and no this is not my family, lol, I wanted to wait till we were in our new home before I filled it up, and trust me I will fill it and then some. I think I better start downloading all my pics to cd's like NOW.

And here it is opened, just look at all those Photo albums, each one holds 100 pics so if you put them in back to back to back you get 200 PICS PER ALBUM, that's 1600 pics in 8 albums. Then there are 3 Lg. drawers and 1 Sm. drawer. HOW AWESOME IS THAT? OH YA, and on the front you have 5 -5x7 pictures windows too.

Just wanted to share this treasure with you all.

I decided that

I am going to be posting a few cards I did at the end of 2008 but never added them to my blog for one reason or another.

This rubbernecker image is the same one I used for my sister's card a while back, but that one was done in blue. I do have a few sentiments printed out with different embelishments, but I like it plain, how about you, what do you think?

pp from a Micheal's pp pack
Stickles from paperworks
bling from tayloredexpressions

Another Simple card

LOVE IT. The blue that is, after all it is my fave color.

HEY DEB, A 15 min. card.
YEAH ME, lol

I did make this for Christmas and did intend to get it out, but now I guess I can add it to my Christmas cards for this year.
All there is to this sucker is the Snowflake and Winter House cuttlebug folder which I sanded to bring out the white core , shear white dot ribbon, some blue chalk and a few minutes of my time.
The thing that took the longest time was chalking the snowflaks on the card base and the envelope flap.
