I took a stab at drawing and painting this picture. My coloures are not as vivid, but i think it turned out ok. A quick touchup on the border and "VOILA" finito. Posted by Picasa

Rust

These are a few rust pieces that I did. I think the first one and the last one look like Betty Boop's face, with her big eyes. Call me wierd, but that's what I see.
Well actually the last one looks like an owl's face.
I do love doing the rust pieces. The cotton material is all finished, so on to silk or whatever I can get my hands on I guess.

HA HA HA

What to say!!!!
I am really likeing the look of quilling, so this is my sorry attempt at it. I thought....HUM..maybe I'll try it. Just something simple at first (and boy did I accomplish that) LOL. Then go on to harder ones? Well maybe that will have to wait a bit.
So I desided to try just a simple iris fold card of my own. Not being of sound mind that day I desided to do a dress. Simple, easy, only two colors (left overs from the infamous quilling escapade), and who can't draw a dress and cut it out. I should have at least put straps, but as earlier stated, I was not of sound mind.
Oh well!! On to bigger and better things Hopefully.

For new Great Nefew

This is a card I made for my sister's very first grandchild Gabriel. I'm not sure who is prouder, my sister or her son. The little beauty was born July 30th, which by the way is on his father's birthday. What a great birthday present, especially since he is soo good. Gabriel (The baby) already stays up pretty much all day long... he dosent want to miss anything I guess. He's a great eater, and very good tempered. He gets them up 2 or three times at night, but not for long they say.
Wow!!!!!!!!! I got to thinking about my 2 daughters. They slept alllllllll day, and wouldn't wake for most of thier feedings, then be up all night long wanting to feed.
So I say to Jemal and Alithea, ENJOY THIS WHILE IT LASTS.
Oh ya the moon card was just because.

Ok this is the last one for now

I found this pic on a site I visited, and just loved it, So I drew it also. Just have to figure out a way to keep it on the glass, without smearing.
I bought some sealant, and have sprayed Kendra's picture, but have to do it a few times I think. Posted by Picasa

Embroidery

I tried my hand at embroidery, and this is the result.I used three different colors of threads, dry brushed the material, then wet it to give an almost waxy feel and add more paint. As is the case with me I read about it after the fact..... and found out that I had done the stitches all wrong. But it turned out ok I think.
The shoe I did it on another piece of material, painted it twotone, sewed around it, then sewed the flower on, added some beads down the side then put batting on the back and applied it to the piece. I stitched green and purple funwire around the words, then added some of my failed attempt at homemade paper, torn up and add to the outside of the piece. Posted by Picasa

inkjet Transfer

This little cutie belongs to a friend of my mom's. He wanted to have her transfered onto a pillow.
I was so into doing this, but NOT paying attention to what I was doing. No cropping or any adjusting on my printer. The dog is B/W anyway, but I didn't capture that cute mug of hers.
Know better next time. (Here's Hopeing) LOL

Rust

Well Dianne... here is the rust techinque on material. (this is the same piece). The first one has less paint on it than the second. I thought it needed something more, so I added more color.

The paints used are Artist's pigment, Red oxide- burnt Sienna- and pumpkin.
I'm still going to add more to this as I think It could still use it.

The one on paper is not dry as yet and I'm chomping at the bit to get at it. LOL

Second attempt

OK ,OK last one of these.
This little thing was my second attempt at fairy shoes.
I made this one out of foam, with lace glued and sewn onto it. I sewed the sole onto the upper, added beads all around and tacked some on the top of shoe. Added some beads and a tiny piece of ribbon I had as a tassle. (love the ribon, got to get more, But where?) This ribbon was off of something I recieved on a gift wrapped present.

I remember thinking if I don't get this one right, I going to throw in the towel. But I'm glad I stuck to it, and it turned out to be quite a lot of fun.
