I did a challenge

The challenge this week on the Sarah Kay blog http://sarahkaychallenges.blogspot.com is purple and green.

Ok I didn't do it for the challenge this week , because I already had it done, but I said what the heck, the colors are right
so if it counts, here is my first challenge.

The background pp is from DCWV paper pack called The Far East Stack. Sorry I've had it so long I forget where i bought it.

I cut out a Large circle from doublesided cs I got at Micheals last summer, cut it in half, then hand stitched the reverse sides
down with this awesome multicolored plastic thread My friend Dianne at http://magpiesenvy.blogspot.com bought me a while ago.
and added Taylor's tiny twinkles http://tayloredexpressions.com

I then took some silk flowers I had and dyed them green and purple, and added a die chip dot.
Image was water colored then mounted to my punched out ovals.
Oh yes, the larger oval was done with the swiss dots cuttlebug folder

Have a wonderful Sunday all

Sarah Kay

Here's another sarah Kay card. I did this one awhile ago too, actually, Idid quite a few of them.
I just love her stamps and now that I own several of them I had to ink them up.

Again no sentiment till I know who it's going to.
I did a design on the card base but didn't like it, so I covered it up with the white cs which I ran through
my crimper. On that I stamped with Versa mark, then rubbed chalks in yellow, blue and dark pink,
added the lace from an old slip i had torn apart, stamped the butterflies and added stickles to them/The image is
done with water color pencils.

Simple Christmas card

It's going to be here sooner then we think.
Christmas is just around the corner, if time passes as quickly as it did this summer (which will be too soon for me).
So I did this easy peasy card, with the new cuttlebug folder, added lots of stickles to the falling snow,
and rooftops. The sentiment was stamped in Versa mark, then black StazOn, added clear embossing powder then set with heatgun.

oh, and a soft gold dusting was added to the stickles on the rooftops to add that little touch of shimmer.
I tried to get a good picture, hope you can see it.

Hope you all had a fantastic day

Last Xmas

I did this card, but I really didn't like it so never posted it.
But I'm getting a bit braver and I'm thinking what the hay, I did it , so post it.
Don't get me wrong, I still really hate it but how else does one learn or get critiqued if one doesn't show it.
So critique away, but be kind, cause i'm sensitive. (just kidding)
It was my first and last attempt at embossing metal and I even tried a bit of ink rubbing on it.
WOOHOO.....................LOL

Have a sunny Thursday

I got a bit carried away

when I saw Mel's http://melstampz.blogspot.com idea for her short ribbons, I got it in my head to do the same thing.
But I think I should not have done it late at night and while I was tired.
I'm thinking I might have gotten a little carried away.
Although I think it looks pretty kewl, I'm think'in it's not really very good if I actually need to use any of that ribbon.
I was so tired that I even gave it a little. Can you see it? LOL
Oh well,I tried.
Anyhoo, I did this card while I was computerless, ????
I sure hope your moniters are showing how deep the colors are, because I'm
haveing a dickens of a time trying to get my resolution right on this thing. It's looking
really washed out on here, when in fact IRL it is rather dark.
And looking at it now I think I'll need to put a larger gem on the huge flower, It's looking a little lost there.
But don't ya just love that Sarah Kay stamp? All of her stamps are so darn cute.

Well that's it for today folks. Hope you have a super wonderful day.

Girls of the world

by Allison at http://stampinwhenican.blogspot.com/
Allison generously shared these cute girls and boys (not shown here) in a download file.

I did these for my granddaughter a while back, and just gave them to her last weekend.
she loves stickers, I guess you could say she is a sticker addict, so I made them stickers for her.
I wish I had taken off the front cello paper so you could see how shimmery and bright they all are,

I used my Twinkling H2o's and they look so rich and yummy thanks to Maria's http://stampininspirations.blogspot.com/ great tutorial.
These are just a few of them.
I think I did all of them twice in the boys and girls of the world sets, one complete set
I coloured in and left the second set plain, I just ran them through my Xron 250 so she could colour them herself.

second post today and a 5 min card?

yup I did this in 5 mjns. with the first stamp set at my finger tip and leftover scraps on my desk.
Now I know it's all smudged, but I did it up, put it in the envelope still wet, then forgot i didn't sign it, BUT it was a VERY rush job after all and then out the door.
Danny was talking to a friend who mentioned that he was ready to pull all his hair out because
they were haveing a birthday pool party for their 6 yr old daughter, and only one little girl showed up.
Needless to say she was a shattered little girl especially since 10 parents RSVPed their kids would be there.

Danny said he would see if he could get his granddaughter, and if so that we would bring her there. As luck would have it, it had to be 100degrees out there yesterday. No jokeing
mission 1 - get granddaughter - accomplished with a bonus of another friends 14 yr. old who volunteered to come and entertain them.
mission 2 - a card (hence this 5 min. mess)

As he was going out the door he turned and gave me this look that stopped me in my tracks, and calmly asks."well are you going to take a picture so we can get going?"
mission 3 - picture hastily taken (sorry for the bad pic)

And last but not least
mission 4 - two more little ones finally showed up, and Brandy the 14 yr. old kept them so busy that I don't think the birthday girl cared that there were only the 4 of them, they all had a blast.

And that was my Sat., how was yours? Hope it was fab.

Friends New and Old

Hello everyone. I just wanted to thank you all for all the nice comments
you all have left here and e-mails wondering if I was still alive.

This card is for you all

I was haveing quite a few computer problems that would take forever to explain, especially since I'm still not totally sure just what the
problems were or why they were happening. (NOT AT ALL COMPUTER SAVVY)

But after loseing more and more functions Danny finally got tired of me beating up the stupid thing and surprised me with a lap top. There is a really long story here , but I will spare you the details . lol Lets just say he is worse then me on computers, and that's pretty bad.

I have a lot of blurffing to get done, awards to acknowledge, unfinished projects to..... well finish, and get caught up on my blogging.
A lot for a person who moves as slow as a snail, but doable.

So thanks again everyone
Have a wonderful day

2nd CD case all done

This time I lined all four sides with Vellum . Hard to get a good pic with the reflection.
But LOOK at the last pic, I put a votive candle in it. Huummm...... I did do this for my stamp sets right?
Anyway, I put Taylor's http://tayloredexpressions.com/ Tiny Twinkles on all the stars, and adhered her Black Rain Dots down all four corners. I was going to add a tag to the top and that's why I have that stretch cord on there right now, but I think I will add a ribbon to the top

Really lovin it as a candle holder though.
.

Well thanks for dropping by today.

Nolans Monster

Head on over to http://fred-she-said.blogspot.com and see this cute little monster that Nolan made. He is 10 yrs old and loves to draw so he had his mom post this one to share with everyone.
Here is my monster for Nolan. Hope he likes it.
I did him with Mel's http://melstampz.blogspot.com gesso. First I mixed gesso with green , grey, and black acrylic paint, I rolled it on the cs and waited a bit for it to almost dry, then I took an old paint brush and stippled it to give it some monster skin. lol
After that dried I embossed his dots with green embossing powder and his horns with red powder so he has monster skin, little devil's horns and googley eyes too.
Oh, and I add rain dots to the dp and the leaf of the flower.

Enjoy your Sunday
And thanx 4 stopping by Posted by Picasa

Know that I care

I made this card for my adopted Little Sister Luci and her family.
They just lost their beloved dog Shadow recently, and I wanted her know Iwas there for them if not in person I was there in spirit.

Sorry about the quality of the pic, I took it on a very rainy and gloomy day and it did'nt take very well.
The quote on the front says
Know That I care.

I also did this one useing the same dp.
As with the first card I stamped the flowers (on the first one), and the leafs on this one with my Versamark, then heat embossed with clear embossing powder on the main card, added the layered c/s , ribbon and embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Photo CD Case

I finally finished something here. What a good feeling.
The uber talented and very giveing Allison @ http://stampinwhenican.blogspot.com/ featured this on her blog ( which is an amazeing place to visit) a while ago, and I just had to give it a try.
It was created by Julie Griffith @ http://paperjewels.blogspot.com/ and aside from there being written directions there is a video tutorial as well.
In this one I am useing it to hold my stamp sets from http://www.faeriesong.com/artstamps. It stores 13 CD cases, so I have to do up another one.
I stamped a Faeriesong stamp on the inside of one CD with StaysOn black ink, and colored it with some gel pens and PerlEx. I lined the inside of each Cd with DP and added that same paper on the outside corners of the case.
Sorry for the color, it's really hard to get one without a reflection on the plastic.
Well I'm off to do another case and hopefully get to all the other things I have started and left to try something else. I do get sidetracked very easily.
Have a great dayPosted by Picasa

Christmas?

Here are a few Christmas cards I've done to get a head start on the season.

Too early you say, well maybe, but I put things off so much that I am always so behind. But not this year, oh no, I'm going full speed ahead and........
well you get the picture.

This first one is a shaker card (YEA ME), each star is a seperate shaker and as you can see I did not measure each one very well, but uuuummmm, it smells so yummy because I used Christmas cake decoration as the shaker fill.

On this one I used reverse stamping, or maybe it's mirror image stamping to get the stocking going the other way, a few sequines to hang them on, DP and all done.

These cards

go with the envelopes in post below with just a quick note inside for them to thank them for all the fun I had the few times I went too.

Inspired Envelopes

These envelopes were inspired by Jennifer card at http://thebuckstampshere.blogspot.com
She did her card with a pull out tab that I thought was so cute that I wanted to case it.
Mine is not a stamp as hers is, but a punch I discovered I had.
I thought the ideas was great for my sister who meets with a few of her friends every month for a girls night out. They usually go to the same restaurant, which has fab food and an excellent waitress (they always try to go when she is serveing) that is crazy and fits right in with them.
They went last Friday, and I guess my cards were a hit.

Well thanks for stopping by

Happy Sunday

I made this card for the little cutie who is turning the big 2 next mo. ALREADY.
It feels as though he just turned one.
I have not quite figured out what I will put on the front or inside the card yet, so I've left that blank for now.

The stamp is from www.rubbernecker.com
