The Glasswing Butterfly
This butterfly lives in South America
A butterfly with transparent wings is rare and beautiful.
As delicate as finely blown glass, the presence of this rare tropical gem is used by rain forest ecologists as an indication of high habitat quality and it's demise alerts them of ecological change.
Rivaling the refined beauty of a stained glass window, the translucent wings of the Glasswing butterfly shimmer in the sunlight like polished panes of turquoise, orange, green, and red.
(All things beautiful do not have to be full of color to be noticed: in life that which is unnoticed has the most power).

Good morning, I thought these were so unique I had to share them.
How wonderful, I would love to see them done in the tissue paper.
Someone else inspired me to do the cards. So I guess as you said "what goes around, comes around".
Thanks

I've never seen this type of butterfly before. Breathtaking! Thank you for sharing, Tonniece :)

You are quite welcome. These just fasinated me when I saw them. Amazing how many things are out there, never seen by human eyes. This is a first for me too.
